Since the beginning of 2014, the population of Eastern Ukraine has had to live with armed conflict between Ukrainian forces and pro-Russian separatists. Around four million Ukrainians are affected by the conflict; more than 1.5 million people have fled their homes.

The exhibition displayed the lives of internally displaced persons who left their homes due to the conflict in Eastern Ukraine and found a new place in other regions of Ukraine. The focus lies on people, who were forced to start a brand new life in an unfamiliar environment, and the ones supporting them.

The project was created in collaboration with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. Who, on behalf of the German Government, implements projects, aimed at integrating IDPs into the cities and communities.
